Happy New Year! As we reflect on the passing year, it is nice to recount some of the beautiful moments our residents experienced at Pacific Carlton, our seniors community in South Surrey. At Pacific Carlton, our staff works tirelessly to organize many fun events and outings for our residents. From Christmas dinners to heartwarming butterfly release ceremonies, we’re excited to share four of our favourite events that brought joy, laughter, and a sense of community to our residents last year.
Butterfly Release Memorial Service
On July 10, we had our Butterfly Release Memorial Service in our garden. Our beautifully landscaped gardens are one of the many features of Pacific Carlton, our seniors community in White Rock. We hosted this service as a beautiful way to honour the memory of loved ones who have passed away. During the ceremony, we released butterflies into the air, which was a touching way to say goodbye.
Halloween Party and Pet Costume Contest
In October, we had an adorable Halloween pet costume contest where some residents put their animals in unique Halloween costumes. Our residents also enjoyed a spooktacular Halloween Gala on Saturday, October 28. Some residents went all out with their costumes, and the staff did a fantastic job decorating the common areas with pumpkins and other spooky decorations. Everyone enjoyed the Halloween-themed snacks and music. Seeing the residents have so much fun in our seniors community in South Surrey was wonderful. I can’t wait for next year’s party!
Visit to the ‘Beyond Van Gogh’ Exhibit
We had an exciting outing to see the ‘Beyond Van Gogh’ exhibit in March. The exhibition offered an incredible audio-visual experience that took us on a journey through Van Gogh’s life and artistic evolution. The Beyond Van Gogh exhibit was a definite highlight of the year, and the residents felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
White Rock Seniors Christmas Events
As the holiday season approached, Pacific Carlton, our seniors community in South Surrey, transformed into a winter wonderland. From decorating Christmas trees to singing carols and enjoying eggnog, we had tons of exciting holiday-themed activities and events! Two of our favourites were our magical Christmas lights tour through Williams Lake on December 13th and our delicious holiday dinner on December 14th!
As we bid farewell to another remarkable year at Pacific Carlton, our seniors community in South Surrey, we carry the cherished memories of these outstanding events. They exemplify the community spirit and the joy that comes from shared experiences. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate more moments of connection, laughter, and celebration in 2024. Here’s to the incredible residents and staff who make Pacific Carlton a place filled with love, laughter, and a sense of belonging!
